Excavator Monthly Issue 2 has just been released!    Get a demo here

How did things get this way? In this issue we tackle Apocalypse Mythology for your character, along with articles on solo-play gaming, stashing your loot, and much more
.

Issue two of Excavator Monthly magazine is character focused, yet still has plenty for the Mutant Epoch game master to challenge the players with. Included in this release are more nasty creatures: the Bloat Creeper, Pipe Worm and Mouther, along with two new relics: the handy Remote Watcher and the devastating Semi-Automatic Sniper Rifle. This issue also includes another popular treasure table, as well as a new character generation method called the Gambler System, a full color character sheet to copy or download, plus two more NPCs, Phaydrix the Mind Waster and Sgt. Cole Dodgerre, a purist bounty hunter. Featured articles this month are a discussion on solo play gaming, how PCs can make a cache for stashing spare or empty relics securely, and finally, a huge selection of Apocalypse Myths for characters, setting backgrounds and NPCs.

BigCon 2011

On September 24th and 25th 2011 we will be at BIGcon here in sunny Kamloops. We’ll be sitting down with convention attendees to roll up characters, do some test combats, discuss the game and setting, and sell books, prints and paper dice sets. In the evening, I hope to get in on a TME game run by one of our leading contributors, Danny Seedhouse. If you’re in the Kamloops area next weekend, come check out the convention, held this year at St. Ann's Academy 205 COLUMBIA ST ‎, Kamloops, B.C. Canada

Tetsubo57 gives The Mall of Doom Gaming Module a Review

He had a couple of great points about a few misused words, and on why we had to cut the back hallways access to the shops in the mall. Yes, there were a lot of 8 gauge shotguns listed in the treasure tables that could be found, although in our test playing sessions we never found a single one and we really needed them! He was also accurate in the attrition rate, with about half the 1st rank characters getting killed in our first play test. Anyhow, give him a listen to this review, but also check out so many of his other youtube videos as all are entertaining and informative even if you don't always agree with his viewpoint on things.

Gaming Music
Transformers: Dark of the Moon
by Steve Jablonsky

Why not give the Transformer Movie soundtracks a listen while setting up for your next TME game? Listen to the full albums at Grooveshark. My favorite in the series is Dark of the Moon.

Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome by The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra

Of Course, for all of you who were wondering about Mad Max, Groove shark has just four tracks from the soundtrack, my favorite being Bartertown.

Related to the Your Stash article in Excavator Monthly Magazine issue 2, we have a youtube video by RyanJcus on just how a PVC cache is made by a modern survivalist, and could give your players an idea on what their character’s might want to stash.

Artist Spotlight

UK
concept artist Matt Allsopp
We came across Matt's work over at http://conceptartworld.com/ and thought some of it would really inspire TME post apocalyptic gamers and players alike. I especially like the scenes of exploration vehicles, which remind me of variants of the scrap built armored cars from page 225 of the TME Hub Rules. It would be cool for a character party to get a hold of a relic APC for extended expeditions into uncharted wastelands. See Matt’s work here: http://mattallsopp.blogspot.com/
